As they go around they are marking some of the trees with either red or white tape or red and white tape. Red tape indicates removal\, white indicates pruning\, and both red and white tapes mark a tree that needs evaluation by a professional.\nBonnie O’Connell

SUMMARY:Drainage Project Work
DESCRIPTION:The first phase of our drainage project will begin on or shortly after December 15\, weather dependent. The first phase includes installing new drainage pipes behind homes in Crossvine and Wintercrest East which will drain under the berm and along the drainage ditch at Lassiter Lane. The old drainage pipes will be abandoned. Care will be taken to protect the impacted trees as digging progresses. \nThis phase 1 work will take 5-10 days to complete. Construction debris will be removed. Topsoil and grass seed will be applied on top of the new pipes. \nPhase 2 will begin as budget money is available. Our plan is to work Close by Close addressing issues identified last spring by North Carolina Drainage. DESCRIPTION:Now that the snow and ice have finally cleared (mostly) Ruppert is able to be here today\, Friday\, to do maintenance work.\nWe also want to mention that if any of you have cut down\, but not removed\, trees on your property Davey will be carrying them away per their contract. Matt Emmerson\, who oversees our Davey contract\, went around yesterday checking on the status of trees staged for pickup.\nThey had hoped to finish their work this week\, but the weather had other ideas\, so it may take until next week for these trees to be removed. DESCRIPTION:During the winter off-season\, Ruppert’s visits do not follow a regular schedule due to moving crews around as needed. This week they were in Countryhouse Monday morning and back on Tuesday. \nWe have had some comments and questions about the piles of wood chips placed in several locations. We had been thinking about the possibility of using them and\, at our request\, Davey gave them to us at no charge. We plan to use them in areas other than next to homes\, where we will apply traditional shredded mulch. We hope this will prove to be an effective and cost saving addition to our mulching budget. It is an experiment for us\, but Camden has been doing it for several years so we are optimistic. \nBonnie O’Connell
