  • Landscaping: 5/11-5/15

Next week Ruppert will be in Countryhouse on Tuesday 5/12, Wednesday 5/13 and Friday 5/15 to perform their regular maintenance work. Also next week CPS will be back to finish up the mulch application in areas that were missed or need more attention. I have heard from several residents already, but if anyone else has a concern about mulch please let me know immediately as I will be sending Ruppert a final list tomorrow. Mulch application is the largest part of our Landscaping budget and we want everyone to be satisfied with the results.

  • Termite Inspections: May 12

Pest & Termite Consultants will be conducting annual termite inspections on Tuesday, May 12th, from 8:00am until 4:00pm. The inspection is necessary to ensure that we eradicate and minimize the destructive nature of these pests. Termites can destroy the structural integrity of your home/unit if not detected and properly treated. The inspector will need access to crawlspaces and interior of garages.

Here is the procedure to get your home inspected:

Pest & Termite inspectors will knock on doors during the inspection period and they will inspect those homes as contact is made with each resident. The inspector will be wearing a company uniform (blue trousers and blue shirt with company name of the shirt). Company pickup trucks are also blue with the company name on the driver side door and tailgate.

You may schedule a specific time in advance for May 12th by calling Pest & Termite Consultants directly at 919-870-8003.

Please remember to leave crawl spaces and garage doors open if you will not be present for the inspection. The inspection cannot be conducted if they do not have access. We will schedule one more inspection date for the units that are locked during the first inspections. If your garage is locked for both inspections, you will be required to schedule an inspection at your expense and share the report with Mill House Properties. Those who do not comply may lose access to their assigned garage.

Your cooperation is greatly appreciated. If you have any questions, please contact Annetta Hoggard at 919-448-5150 or hoa@millhouseproperties.com. We appreciate you being available during this inspection and if you cannot be, please plan ahead and have a neighbor or friend cover in your absence.

  • Landscaping Update 5/4-5/8

This week Ruppert will be in Countryhouse for their regularly scheduled days: Monday 5/4 and Tuesday 5/5. In addition, the mulching application will continue and should be finished this week. This is also a reminder that if you feel your yard has been missed during this process please notify Millhouse so we can resolve the issue in a timely fashion.

  • Mulching to Start 4/27

    Mulching Update

We have just had confirmation that the Countryhouse mulching work will take place next week, most likely starting on Monday 4/27. I’m not sure where they are starting, but every yard will receive triple shredded mulch in the front and side areas. Pine straw will be applied in natural and some common ares. Of course those residents who have opted out will not be included.

Last year some yards were somehow missed, which we hope will not happen this time. However if your property does not receive mulch when all your neighbors do, please notify Millhouse right away so that we can rectify the situation immediately.

  • Landscaping / Weed Spraying 4/20-4/21

This week Ruppert will be in Countryhouse Monday 4/20 and Tuesday 4/21.

As we have previously mentioned, they will be spraying garden areas in preparation for mulching next week as well as walkways, to stop the growth of weeds from all the warm weather we have had. Like last year, they will be using a combination of pre-emergent and post-emergent products that are purported to be a healthier version of Round Up. According to Ruppert, the chemicals are absorbed into the weed’s system more quickly and it should be safe to walk in these areas after 24 hours or less.

Those of you who have chosen to be placed on the No Spray list will be responsible for removing the weeds in your own areas. White or green flags will be placed at the entrance of each close as the spraying is finished.

Thank you for your cooperation with the landscaping crew as they perform this necessary, but not always popular, work. It will help ensure the success of our mulching program, which is a very large part of our landscaping budget.

  • Landscaping, Weed Spraying, Mulch

Ruppert has been in Countryhouse today, Monday 4/14, performing their normal maintenance work.

In preparation for the expected mulching beginning 4/27, they will need to spray for weeds next week. I will send out last year’s “no spray” list for you to check against, hopefully tomorrow. If your residence is listed and you still want no spraying, you don’t need to do anything. If you do want spraying this year or if you want to be added to the “no spray” list please contact me by this Friday 4/18.

This week is also your last chance to be added to the “no mulch” list. So if you have suddenly decided that you do not want us to provide mulch at your property please also contact me by Friday 4/18.

    Thank you.

  • Mulching Project

We are preparing to do our seasonal mulching project so we want to update you about it. The work is actually done by a company contracted by Ruppert, not our crew, and is set to begin around April 27.  They will be spreading  triple shredded mulch around the fronts and sides of homes to a depth of two inches, except for those homes that are on the “no mulch” list.

Mulch will not be placed on top of pine straw so, if either you or mother nature have placed pine straw in these areas, please rake it away to allow for the mulch placement.

No mulch will be spread in the backs of homes, so that will be up to you to do if you have gardens there.

Pine straw will be placed in natural and sloped areas, as was done last year. We will continue to update you as needed.

  • Landscaping Update: 3/30-3/31

Ruppert will be in Countryhouse on Monday 3/30 and Tuesday 3/31 this week. Going forward they are scheduled to come on Monday and Tuesday each week, weather permitting. So you can plan on placing your yard bags and debris piles for pickup after all your hard work over the weekend. 😉

  • Landscaping Update: 3/23-3/24

This week Ruppert will be in Countryhouse today 3/23 and tomorrow 3/24. They will be doing their regular maintenance work and possibly some trimming of shrubs where needed.
We have heard from several residents that their Yaupon Hollies look dead. It seems this winter was particularly hard on certain shrubs, but the Yaupons should revive with the warmer weather. We recommend waiting a month or two to see how any affected plants do.
